Design Inspo: The color Blue

nature-2384_1920

My relationship with blue is not complicated. I love it! It’s associated with two of the earth’s most beautiful natural features: the sky and the ocean, which I find both calming and inspiring *deep exhale as you picture yourself standing on the beach*. Also the color blue ranks consistently as “America’s favorite color”, so it’s a commonly used choice for my clients. There are so many shades of blue and fun ways to incorporate it into your home. Check out below for some of my fave ways to incorporate the color blue in YOUR space!

CABINETRY: This is one of my favorites. You can add so much personality by using blue on your cabinets, whether it’s in your kitchen, kids’ bathroom, or your own bathroom. When you don’t want to be boring but you still want to pick a color with style staying power, going blue is a great idea. TILE: Add in some blue on your backsplash, floor or shower tile. Blue is a classic/timeless choice for tile color!

PAINT + WALLPAPER: The least expensive place to add in some blue? Paint your walls! Try a little wallpaper if you’re looking for more pattern or texture. Blue is a great choice for bedrooms due it’s calm and relaxing vibes.

ART + ACCESSORIES: If you prefer a neutral home but want to add a little color, blue is a great choice. You can add blue in with your pillows, artwork, rugs and accessories.
