On this project, we listened closely to understand

On this project, we listened closely to understand the vision and design direction, and then created a customized plan detailing furniture selection and layout, fabrics, rugs, artwork and window treatments to complete their design.

Here is the feedback we received when the project was complete:

"My biggest challenge was trying to see the big picture of a home that was not complete. And also understanding floor plans, measurements, and appropriate furniture arrangement. It was very stressful for me as I tend to second guess all my purchases.

I loved receiving access to detailed floor plans that included links to purchasing items. So simple and easy! I revisit the information frequently. I have worked with Amy on two separate homes, and would not use anyone else!”

Let's talk about the reality of what it looks like to enjoy your home when you have kids or pets who may make it hard to keep your home "picture perfect."

When I work with clients, one really important thing we have to think about is how the home will actually be lived in 🏡

🎨 For example, if I'm working with a client who has kids and may need to worry about sharpie ending up on the wall, I will make sure to choose a wall paint finish that can be wiped off easily.

🐶 Or if they have a dog, we can go with a rug that can handle potential messes like if they happen to get sick.

🛋 Or maybe we get furniture that isn't as expensive now with the plan that there can be an upgrade later when the kids are older.

What are some ways you can upgrade and refresh a space in your home?

One of my favorite ways to do this is with lighting adjustments. 💡

When we renovated the basement in my home, we really revamped the lighting situation.

There was one tiny little window in there and not enough artificial lighting, so it was DARK. We added more dimmable ceiling recessed lights, and added lighting over the bar area.

As a bonus, we added in some wall sconces due to an existing wired-in wall fan we had to remove. We removed the fan but still had electrical and a switch so we put it to good use with sconces, to add another layer of light and a fun touch to the space.
